Via Francigena· Stage Sarzana → Massa
The heart of Massa is defined by Piazza Aranci, a spacious square surrounded on three sides by rows of bitter orange trees and dominated by the Ducal Palace. The square features a central obelisk and is paved with the famous white marble of the nearby Carrara quarries. It serves as a vibrant resting spot for pilgrims to experience local life before continuing their journey toward Lucca.
