Stage
Ease of walking: Steep uphill sections on mountain paths and well-maintained local roads; moderate difficulty due to altitude gain.
This alpine stage climbs from the Valais valley floor toward the lower approaches to the Great St Bernard Pass, finishing in the compact village of Bourg-Saint-Pierre. It is a classic high-valley day with steep sections and mountain air before the actual pass crossing.
High alpine scenery with conifer forests, rocky slopes, and panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers.
